An additional Yealink W78H cordless DECT handset with a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 display, HD voice and a full-duplex speakerphone. Supplied with a charger cradle, rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, belt clip and power adapter.

Built For Staff Who Move Around The Site

Warehouse, workshop and front-of-house staff are rarely at a desk, so calls go unanswered while people walk back to a fixed phone. The W78H is a cordless DECT handset with a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 display, HD voice across a 100 Hz to 7 kHz frequency response and a full-duplex speakerphone, so conversations stay clear whether the handset is at the ear or on a bench. Noise cancellation, hearing aid compatibility, Bluetooth 5.1 and a 3.5 mm headset jack round out the audio options.

Coverage And Range

The W78H operates on the 1880-1900 MHz DECT band used in Australia. Coverage reaches up to 50 m indoors and up to 300 m outdoors, both figures measured in ideal conditions. Building materials, racking and interference will reduce those distances in practice.

Battery Life

A 1010 mAh Lithium-ion battery gives up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 166 hours of standby, both in ideal conditions. The charger cradle runs on a DC 5V/0.6A output.

System Capacity

The local phonebook holds up to 100 entries. In the box you get the W78H handset, charger cradle, rechargeable battery, belt clip and power adapter.

Built To Last

The handset measures 151.0 mm x 49.5 mm x 21 mm and weighs 126.5 g, with a belt clip included for carrying it through a shift. It is rated for operation from 0 to 40 °C and 10 - 95% humidity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Comes In The Box?

The W78H handset, a charger cradle, a rechargeable battery, a belt clip and a power adapter.

Can I Use This Handset On Its Own?

No. The W78H is a DECT handset and needs a compatible DECT base station to make and receive calls. The base station connects to your phone system and the handset registers to it over DECT. This handset is the one used with the Yealink W78P system.

How Long Does The Battery Last?

Yealink rates the 1010 mAh lithium-ion battery at up to 21 hours talk time and up to 166 hours standby, both in ideal conditions. Treat those as best-case laboratory figures; real shifts with a busy DECT signal, a lit display and speakerphone use will come in lower, so plan on returning the handset to its cradle at the end of each shift.

What Range Will I Get?

Up to 50 m indoors and up to 300 m outdoors in ideal conditions. Indoor figures drop with brick, concrete, steel racking, lift shafts and cool rooms in the path, so larger sites are usually covered by adding base stations or repeaters rather than relying on one base.

Does It Work With A Headset?

Yes, it has a 3.5 mm headset jack. It also has full-duplex speakerphone and noise cancellation for hands-free use, and the handset is hearing-aid compatible.

Will It Work With My SIP Provider Or PBX?

The handset itself does not hold SIP credentials. Your DECT base station registers to your SIP provider or PBX, and the handset registers to the base over DECT at 1880-1900 MHz, the Australian band. So compatibility comes down to your base station rather than the handset.
