The Yealink T31G covers that with HD voice, a full-duplex speakerphone and support for up to 2 SIP accounts, on a 2.3-inch display. It runs over Power over Ethernet at 3-4 W, so a single Gigabit cable can carry both the call and the power.

A 2.3-inch screen at 132x64 resolution shows caller information, call state and menu prompts in clear text.

Audio Quality

HD voice and a full-duplex speakerphone keep two-way conversation natural, so both parties can talk without clipping. Built-in noise cancellation helps in open-plan rooms. Narrowband codec support covers PCMU (G.711u), PCMA (G.711A), G.723.1, G.729, G.729A, G.729B, G.729AB, G.726 and iLBC for compatibility with a wide range of SIP providers and PBX platforms.

Connectivity And Power

Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports handle the network side, and the phone supports Power over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af as a Class 1 device drawing 3-4 W. Up to 2 SIP accounts can be registered. Does It Need A Power Adapter?

Not if your network switch supplies Power over Ethernet. The T31G supports IEEE 802.3af PoE as a Class 1 device and consumes 3-4 W over PoE, so one Ethernet cable carries both data and power. If you do not have a PoE switch or injector, you will need an AC power adapter, which is an optional item rather than part of the standard pack.

How Many Lines Or Accounts Does It Support?

Up to 2 SIP accounts. That suits a user who needs a personal line plus a shared or company line, or a single line with a second registration for a different service.

Will It Work With My Phone System Or Provider?

It is a standard SIP phone, so it will register to on-premises IP PBXs and hosted or cloud voice services that support SIP accounts.
